Fall Party and Pig Roast

Sat, October 21 @ 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm

(Rain Date: Sunday, October 22) Swimming may be over for this year, but there is still another chance to get together with your Holmes Run Pool friends at this festive gathering celebrating the Fall season. Don’t miss this favorite annual event. Dinner features a slow roasted pig, lovingly grilled on site all day by our own member chef Jim Wright with the assistance of Mark Sites, accompanied by homemade vegetarian chili, mac-n-cheese, baked beans, coleslaw, and dessert. Apple cider and beer will be available. Feel welcome to BYO any other favorite beverages. Kids are invited to hunt for and then decorate a mini-pumpkin that they can take home with them. There will also be marshmallows to roast! NEW THIS YEAR! Find a partner and participate in a three-legged race! Non-member friends are welcome. We hope you’ll join us!

Tickets are on sale until Oct 17. Our volunteer organizers appreciate when guests purchase their tickets earlier rather than later as it helps them better prepare for this event.

Early Bird Prices (until Fri, Oct 13)
  • $15 for adults
  • $10 for children ages 2-12
  • Children under 2 are free
  • Adult and teen volunteers are free
Last Call Prices (after Fri, Oct 13)

  • $15 for children ages 2-12

We need and appreciate your help! Enjoy complimentary food and drinks when you sign up.

Help Needed for Three-legged Race We are looking for two volunteers to help make this event happen. Set-up the start and finish lines; distribute and collect leg-bands; ring a cowbell to start the race; and present award ribbons to winners. Instructions for facilitating the race will be provided ahead of time. During the event, volunteers need to be able to manage the race WITHOUT supervision or reminders.

Note About the Weather As with any outdoor party, there is a chance that rain or storms will interrupt our event. Guests are welcome to bring popup canopies in case of rain. If there are storms, we will follow our standard policy of closing the facility until 30 minutes past the last sound of thunder. While there are no refunds for weather interruptions or cancellations, we will do everything we can to reopen and have a great evening, even if storms happen. We will also have “to go boxes” to take home your fill of food if need be.

Need Help? Use the Contact Us form to contact the Webmaster if you are having difficulty logging into the website, resetting your password, or purchasing tickets OR the Activities Coordinator if you have a question about this event (timing, menu, volunteering, etc…).

Special thanks to our volunteer organizers and chefs, Jim Wright, Mark Sites, Seena Polivy, Barbara Foley, and Laura Champe Mitchell!

Here are a few important things to know…

Photo IDs are Required for Admission

Photo IDs are required for entry to the pool facility. Save time at check-in and upload your own photo (just a headshot – no hats or sunglasses, please). Just log in to the eSoft portal and go to My Account / My Profile. Alternatively, you may have it taken the first day you come to the pool.

Unaccompanied Minors

Youths aged 11-17 are allowed to come to the pool alone as long as a parent member agrees to HRARA’s unaccompanied minor policy. To complete the necessary form, log in to the website, go to My Profile / Profile, select ‘Minors’ on the gray submenu, and complete the necessary form. Both parent and child must agree to the policies. Children who do not have this form completed will not be allowed to enter the pool property without a parent or guardian present. Those aged 14 or older may be designated as a babysitter in charge of other children. (NOTE: A new Unaccompanied Minor form must be filled out at the beginning of each season.)

Parking at the Pool

Please remember to drive slowly in the parking lot and watch for small children. If the lot is full, parking is available on neighborhood streets including Executive Avenue and Hemlock Avenue. From Hemlock, you may walk behind Woodburn Elementary School, pass the playground, tennis courts and field and take the path through the woods to the pool property.

Break Time!

Every hour, the pool observes a 10-minute break time when swimmers ages 15 and under must exit the pool completely. Please remind your children to observe break time by sitting on the lounge chairs or enjoying the pool grounds. Children are not allowed to sit at the edge of the pool or keep their feet in the water as a safety precaution.

Swimmers 16 and over are welcome to stay in the pool during break time. If a lifeguard asks a swimmer to observe break time, please comply with the request. If there is a disagreement regarding the age of the swimmer, please have the swimmer confirm their age at the pool house.
