Volunteers Needed

Now that the pool is officially closed for the season, our facility is being winterized. There are a few quick items that can be handled by member volunteers including moving the picnic tables and removing the deck canopies. We are looking for volunteers on Saturday morning at 10am to help with these items—with enough help, these tasks should be finished in 30-45 minutes. If you are able to help, please stop at the pool at 10am. Thank you!

Thank you to the volunteers who helped organize the final event of the season, the fall pig roast: Jim Wright, Mark Sites, Seena Polivy, Bryan Hogge, Jason Kowalewski, John Schrock, Laura Champe Mitchell, and Barbara Foley. Thanks also to the many volunteers on the night of the event who helped with set up, tickets, clean up, and the pumpkin craft!

Survey results

Thank you to everyone who responded to the end-of-season survey. The most requested improvements are better umbrellas and bases and updating the bathrooms. The board is looking into these improvements and will be making plans this winter. If you are a contractor and would like to be considered in the bidding process, please contact Communications.

Look for an update from the Holmes Run Pool President, Mark Sites, after the New Year with more news. Memberships for next season will open in the spring. We look forward to seeing everyone back poolside next year!

The annual meeting of the Holmes Run Acres Recreation Association (HRARA) shareholders will be held at the pool in the evening on Saturday, August 24, 2019. During this meeting the HRARA Board of Directors (BOD) will review their accomplishments within the last year, provide an update of the pool’s status, and outline future plans. At the conclusion of the meeting, a light dinner will be provided courtesy of the pool.

The Swim Team will host their Annual Banquet at the pool this coming Saturday July 27. Some areas of the pool will be closed to the general membership for set up and during the event as follows:

  • Picnic decks and picnic grounds: Closed after 2:30 pm
  • Upper pool: Closed after 4:00 pm

The lower pool, baby pool and pool decks are open for all members, and the upper pool will be open until 4:00 pm on Saturday.

Swim Team Registration is open!

We encourage all returning (and new!) swimmers to complete their Summer 2019 registration soon so we can begin organizing coaches, lanes, and so on. The online registration system will now accept credit card payments with no additional charge to you. Easy, peasy!

Meeting for Teen Swimmers

There will be a special meeting for all 13+older swimmers on Saturday, May 18th at 7 pm at the Gallacher home. This will be a great chance to reconnect friendships, meet our new Assistant Head Coach, and make plans for team activities. For more information and to RSVP, email the Swim Team Rep.
